March 20, election day in Illinois, is quickly approaching! According to the Center for American Women and Politics, of the 106 women serving in Congress, 38, or 35.8%, are women of color; 450 or 24.1% of the 1,871 women state legislators serving nationwide are women of color.
Tonight, E3 Radio, an online radio network for the LGBTQ community & allies, featured five women of color running for elected office in the state of Illinois:

Maria Hadden, Candidate for 49th Ward Alderman
Sameena Mustafa, Candidate for U.S. Congress
