2018 Women of Color Candidate Forum

According to the Center for American Women and Politics, of the 106 women serving in Congress, 38, or 35.8%, are women of color; 450 or 24.1% of the 1,871 women state legislators serving nationwide are women of color.

Tonight, E3 Radio, an online radio network for the LGBTQ community & allies, featured five women of color running for elected office in the state of Illinois:

Gaylon Alcaraz, Candidate for Cook County Commissioner, 4th District

Maria Hadden, Candidate for 49th Ward Alderman

Sameena Mustafa, Candidate for U.S. Congress

Delia Ramirez, Candidate for State Representative, 4th District

Charise Williams, Candidate for Cook County Commissioner, 3rd District
